Description
Nos 2 to 8 on Upminster Road South are a range of two-storey timber-framed houses dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. Houses 2, 4, and 8 now feature shop fronts. Number 2 has a return elevation with two windows on each storey, a central stack, and a hipped roof that ends in a rear wing. Number 4 has one sash window on the upper storey, while number 6 has a side entrance accessed from an open passage between numbers 6 and 8, along with two upper storey sash windows, one of which has glazing bars. Number 8 includes a 19th-century shop window with small panes and one sash window above. The front of the entire range is rendered, and the houses have a tiled roof. The rear elevation is irregular, featuring later extensions and outshots.
