Description

No. 197 High Street is a late 17th-century timber-framed building that stands two storeys tall. The exterior features roughcast and has four modern windows, along with a tiled roof. There are three entrance doors; the western door is part of a small shop front, while the central door is adorned with an 18th-century hood that has an open pediment supported by shaped brackets. At the rear, there is a two-storey range that extends parallel to the west half of the building, and the rest of the structure is extended by a single-storey outshot. The west return wall and the rear extension display remnants of extensive pargeting.
