Description
Deyne Court, Harrow-on-the-Hill, dates to 1870. It is attributed to J L Walford, designed for David Brown, a shipbroker from Leadenhall Street. The building is in an Italianate style, constructed from finely laid red brick with decorative terra-cotta detailing, and topped with a hipped slate roof. It is three bays wide and features a four-columned porte-cochere, topped with a balustrade that is also repeated in front of the first-floor windows. A plain frieze contains three small windows leading to the attics. A cast-iron glazed link connecting Deyne Court to Deynecourt Cottage, which was formerly stables, is not included as part of the listed building.
