Description
The Park is a building located on the east side of High Street in Harrow-on-the-Hill, dating from around 1795 and designed by John Nash. It underwent enlargements after 1803 by John Shaw, and an extra storey was added in 1906. The building has an H-plan layout and features many alterations on the north and west sides. The entrance and garden fronts are particularly attractive, with bay windows spanning two storeys. The exterior is faced with stucco and includes a notable doorcase. The end window of the south block has three-light sash windows and a fluted tympanum, while the first floor showcases a decorative low relief of a lion created by Coade and Sealey of Lambeth. The grounds were designed by Capability Brown.
