Description

The properties at 69-73 Blackheath Road are a group of three mid-1830s mid-terrace houses. They are three storeys high, with a sunken basement. Nos. 69 and 71 each have two bays, while No. 73 has three, with the northernmost bay slightly set back to create an entrance. The houses are built of multicoloured stock brick, featuring a plat band, a stucco frieze, a cornice, and a blocking course that conceals the roofline. The ground floor sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set within round-headed recesses framed by gauged brick arches and are linked by a moulded impost band. The entrance to No. 73 has attached, fluted columns supporting a cornice head. The other entrance doorcases are simpler in design, but all include patterned fanlights. The interiors have been converted into flats, although they have not been inspected.
