Description
This is a group of three houses at 4-8 Feathers Place, dating to 1744. Each house is two storeys high with a basement and a mansard garret roof. They are one bay wide. The ground floors are stuccoed, while the first floors are brick-faced with yellow brick, red brick dressings, and gagged arches to the window openings. Nos 4 and 8 feature red brick dressings to the outer corners. A brick initialled and dated 1744 is visible on the first floor window opening of No 6. The interior plans demonstrate an interesting adaptation of the "lobby entry" design, incorporating a front and back room separated by a bay housing a lobby, a newel staircase, and a chimney stack.
