Description

This is a boundary wall that forms the front gardens of numbers 44 to 50 (even) on The Bourne, extending west for about 44 yards. The wall is built of red brick and dates from the late 17th century or earlier, featuring a plinth. The upper sections have likely been restored in the 18th century. It has a rounded slope at the top, which was later raised by four courses and finished with a coping of bricks laid on their ends. There are one or two buttresses and arched openings at intervals for house entrances.
