Description

Probably dating from the 17th century, 98 and 100 Green Street are timber-framed buildings now used as two separate dwellings. The buildings are two storeys high with a total of three windows. The roof, now tiled with machine tiles, has a large ridge stack which is roughly rendered. Number 98 has a roughcast first floor and an incised stuccoed ground floor, while Number 100 has weatherboarding. Modern casement windows and doors have been installed. The roof slopes gently. Inside Number 98, some exposed beams remain, and Number 100 contains two original doors consisting of six equal-sized panels with prominent raised borders. Inglenooks have been boarded up. The buildings are listed for their rarity in this area, despite alterations, many of which are considered reversible.
