Description
The canteen block to the Hoover Factory, built in 1938 by Wallis Gilbert and Partners, is a notable example of 20th-century architecture. Constructed from reinforced concrete, the building features large areas of glazing. It stands three storeys high and has three main bays facing Western Avenue. The central bay is recessed and includes a pointed vertical oriel, while the outer bays are designed with horizontal glazing that curves inward towards the center. The left return elevation showcases horizontal windows with metal glazing bars.
