Description

The Old Forge, formerly known as Hayes Cottages, is an early 18th-century building located on Hayes Lane in Kenley. It is two storeys high and features four bays. The ground floor is partly constructed of brick and partly rendered, while the upper floor is tile-hung. The ground floor has modern casement and sash windows, and there is a modern porch. The first floor has Yorkshire sliding windows. The roof is modern and covered with tiles, featuring end stacks and a central stack on the rear slope. The gable end is also tile-hung. The building is listed despite the presence of unsympathetic concrete roof tiles.
