Description
The King's Head Inn is a public house located on Bexley High Street, dating from the 16th century or early 17th century. The building is timber-framed and weatherboarded, featuring two storeys and an attic. It has three 3-light casement windows and a dormer in the tiled roof, with a gable at the east end of the front. A modern public house front has been added, complete with a swinging sign post. There are also rear extensions to the east, which are weatherboarded. The main part of the building has a roof supported by tie-beams, queen-struts, and collars, with trapped through-purlins. The structure suggests it was originally a hall-house, with an inserted single-flued chimney stack located by the screens passage.
