Description
Jays Cottages is a small row of cottages located on Blendon Road, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The buildings are two storeys high and constructed of yellow brick with a tiled roof. Number 1 features two sash windows and a door to the right, which has a reeded surround and a plain hood. Numbers 2 and 2a have two windows on the upper storey, one sash and one casement, along with a window, a door, and a blocked window and door, similar to those of Number 1. The windows throughout have flush frames and glazing bars, and the cottages have shaped bargeboards. The tiled roof includes axial chimney stacks, and Number 2 has iron ties with S-shaped plates. There are also additions at the rear of the cottages.
