Description
The Greek Orthodox Church, formerly known as the Parish Church of St Michael, is a small single-cell church located on Wickham Lane in East Wickham, Welling. It is likely of 12th-century origin, as suggested by the lancet window in the chancel. The church is constructed of flint, rubble, and brick, featuring a gabled roof and a prominent bellcote at the west end. The east window has three lights with cinquefoil heads set within a square frame, while the nave includes cinquefoil-headed windows. The west door is set within a pointed brick arch. The roof is tiled, and the shingled bellcote, which carries a weather vane, was added in 1897. The church underwent restoration in 1926, although many of the original fittings have been largely removed.
