Description
The building is a former control tower, watch office, aircraft factory, and factory office block located at Hendon Aerodrome, dating from 1915. It is constructed of red brick. The factory elevation facing Aerodrome Road is one storey high and seven bays wide, featuring a slightly projecting central bay with a square-headed stone architraved entrance, flanked by circular windows. Above the door is a 'GW' monogram along with the date. The windows are square with gauged heads and have metal frames with small panes. A modillion cornice runs along the parapet, while the roof is not visible.
The watch office is located at the end of the seven bays, with an advanced ground storey that projects at the center for the entrance and includes a timber balustraded gallery. The upper storeys feature Serlian windows in the center and end bays, while the other windows are square-headed. The watch tower is recessed behind the facade. This building is of historic interest as it served as the hub of Graham-White's aerodrome and factory complex.
