Description

Houses, dating from circa 1910, designed by Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin as part of the Hampstead Garden Suburb. The houses are constructed of painted pebbledash with tiled roofs. They are two storeys high and have an angled plan, designed to create a transition between Temple Fortune Lane and Farm Walk, with a crosswing at the corner of a one-window range. Number 1 has a two-window range, while Number 2 is designed to resemble a single-ended hall house, featuring a three-window range representing the "hall" and a one-window range crosswing. The windows are casements with one or two lights, arranged in varied positions. Number 2 features a canted bay to its crosswing. Chimney stacks are situated at the peaks of the gable end walls, to the right of the crosswing in the centre of the block, and to the left of Number 2's crosswing. These houses form a group with numbers 3-7 Farm Walk and 217-221 Hampstead Way. They were originally part of the artisans’ quarter, planned by Parker and Unwin between 1907 and 1911.
