Description
The gates and piers between the Norman Shaw North and South Buildings, part of the former New Scotland Yard, were erected in 1904. They were designed in association with Shaw's south building, with the gates created by Reginald Blomfield. The granite gate piers are heavily channelled and feature cornices topped with globe lanterns. The wrought iron gates are adorned with ornate ironwork, which Shaw acquired after they were displayed by Blomfield in an Arts and Crafts Exhibition.
