Description
No. 77 Dean Street is a terrace house built between 1732 and 1733, likely designed by Thomas Richmond, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of stock brick with stucco detailing and has a concealed roof. It stands four storeys high and is four windows wide. The ground floor features a later 20th-century neo-Victorian shop front with colonetted arcaded lights and a fascia. The upper floors have recessed sash windows without glazing bars. The first-floor windows are set in stucco architraves with friezes and outer segmental pediments flanking an inner pair with triangular pediments. The second-floor windows retain red brick segmental arches and red brick dressings, while the attic floor has flat gauged arches. There are stuccoed sill bands on the first and second floors, and the main stuccoed moulded cornice continues from No. 76 over the second floor, leading to a parapet with coping. The interior has been completely remodelled.
