Description
The Blue Posts Public House is a public house located on Rupert Street in the City of Westminster. It likely originated in the early 18th century and was refaced and altered around 1850. The building is constructed of stucco with a painted brick top floor and stands four storeys tall, featuring three windows across its façade. The entrance to Rupert Court is located through the ground and first floors on the right side. The public house's doors and windows are framed within a ground floor arcade that returns to Rupert Court.
On the first floor, there is a single, broad, recessed bay window with sash lights. The second floor contains three recessed sash windows, each with cornices above. The painted brick third floor features windows set in stucco surrounds. The second floor is channelled above the plat band and is topped with a modillion cornice, while the third floor has stucco quoins with a dentil crowning cornice and a parapet above. The building is included for its group interest only.
