Description
Nos 7 and 9 Wardour Street are a pair of terraced houses built around 1727, with alterations to the ground floor. They are constructed of stock brick with red brick dressings and feature slate roofs. The buildings stand three storeys tall with dormered mansards, each having two windows. The ground floors have mid to late 20th-century shop fronts, while the upper floors retain flush framed glazing bar sash windows with red brick dressings and gauged segmental arches. The parapet has coping. No 9 features a stone panel and cornice at the second floor level, inscribed with "Exchange and Bullion Office"; the panel is flanked by the inscriptions "No 9" and "1798". There is a cast iron fluted rainwater head located between the two houses.
