Description
This is a block of terraced houses forming a three-sided composition, built around 1900 in the Queen Anne style. The houses are constructed of red brick with Portland stone dressings, and have steeply-pitched tiled roofs. Numbers 2 to 7 are four storeys high, with an attic in the gable and a basement, each house being three windows wide. Number 1 is two storeys high with an attic and basement, featuring one main bay facing Ebury Street and two bays facing Lygon Place. Number 8 has four bays facing Ebury Street and two wider bays facing Lygon Place. Houses 2 to 7 have square-headed entrances and two-storey Portland stone canted bays to the ground and first floors. They feature segmental-headed sash windows with flush frames and glazing bars. A stone cornice sits above the third floor, with very large modillions. Gabled attics and tall chimneys are also present. Numbers 1 and 8 have a similar treatment with canted bays to Ebury Street, and large stone gable porches to Lygon Place. Number 1 has mullioned and transomed windows. The original wrought iron area railings are still in place.
