Description
This is a group of terraced houses, some incorporating shops, dating from approximately 1790 to 1800. They are located on Cleveland Street in Westminster. The buildings are constructed of stock brick with concealed slate roofs and extend over four storeys, including basements. Each property has a two-window front. A semicircular arched doorway with a panelled door and fanlight—some fanlights retain a radial glazing pattern—is located on the left-hand side. Shop fronts have been inserted into numbers 145 and 149. The windows are recessed sash windows set under gauged flat arches and feature bracketed stone sills. A parapet with coping runs along the top of the building. Surviving cast iron area railings with tasselled spearhead finials are present at numbers 143 and 147.
