Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of houses located on the east side of St George's Square, London. The terrace comprises numbers 3 to 25. The buildings are constructed of stucco, with a roof that is not visible. The design is symmetrical, with the central pair and the end pairs of houses projecting slightly and featuring rusticated quoins. The ground floor is vertically channelled. Each house has two windows and extends over five storeys. They include projecting Doric porches with panelled doors. A continuous balustraded balcony runs along the first floor, with the exception of numbers 7 and 9. The windows have architraves above the ground floor, while the fourth-floor windows are pedimented, with segmental pediments except for the projecting sections which have triangular pediments. The second-floor windows are corniced. A console cornice runs along the top. The windows are sash windows, with plate glass, and the first-floor windows are French casements. A parapet features a pedimental projection over the central pair of houses. The buildings have cast iron area railings and are considered an integral part of the layout of St George's Square.
