Description

This is an early 19th-century terrace of houses on Southwick Street, City of Westminster. The buildings are primarily brown brick, with the ground floors of numbers 25, 27, and 37 stuccoed. The terrace is four storeys high, with a basement level. Numbers 25 and 27 have round-arched recesses at street level, containing the entrance and a window; one sash window has radial glazing in the head, and the other has margin lights. Number 29 incorporates a carriage arch leading to a mews, associated with Sussex Gardens. Numbers 31 to 35 have altered 19th-century shop fronts. Number 37 is situated on a corner and features a blocked, pilastered shop front and a corner entrance. An iron balcony is present on the first floor of numbers 25, 27, and 37. The windows above are sashes with glazing bars, each set within a flat brick arch. A stucco sill band runs along the third floor, and there is a parapet coping at the roofline. Arrow-head shaped basement railings are also present.
