Description
The Pavilion at Lord's Cricket Ground is a Grade II* listed building, constructed between 1889 and 1890 by architects Thomas Verity and Frank T Verity for the Marylebone Cricket Club. It is made of brick and features ornate pink terracotta facings. The structure includes a long, two-storey central section with raked, covered seating above, flanked by two end pavilions topped with pyramidal roofs that have decorative wrought and cast iron lanterns. A notable feature is the Long Room, which occupies much of the ground floor front. The Pavilion is recognized for its significant historical association with the game of cricket.
