Description

This is a terrace of three houses, numbered 1-3, located on the north-east side of Norfolk Place in the City of Westminster, with a later addition at number 3a. The terrace dates to the 1820s and forms a return to Sussex Gardens, including an archway leading to a mews. Constructed of brown brick with a stucco third floor, sill band, and parapet coping. The buildings are four storeys high, each with two bays, although numbers 3 and 3a are set back. The shop fronts are largely from the 19th century and have been altered. The original windows are sash windows with glazing bars, except for the first and second floors of number 3a and the third floor of number 1. Flat, gauged brick arches are over the windows, and these are painted at the rear of number 3a. Number 2 features sash windows with glazing bars and a round-arched staircase window with radial glazing in the head. Decorative iron balconies are present on the first floors of numbers 1 and 2.
