Description

All Saints Church, along with Nos 7 and 8, which serve as the clergy house and vestry, was built between 1849 and 1859 by William Butterfield. This structure is made of red brick featuring vitreous brick diaper and banding, with occasional stone dressings and slate roofs. It is a notable example of High Victorian architecture and represents a model church of the Camden Society, showcasing an innovative approach to decoration. The church is set back and features a tall broach spired tower with sheer brick walls, while the porch is located at the angle of the forecourt at the base of the tower. Inside, there are marble clustered columns and polychrome brickwork. The clergy house and vestry are positioned on either side of the forecourt, displaying similar brick banding and gabled finials, pointed arched doorways, and 2 and 3 light sash windows with cambered heads and blind pointed arched patterned brick tympana. They are connected by a low stone wall with a weather-capped forecourt and a central gabled gateway. The property also features good iron gates and railings in front of the basement area, along with two decorative lamp standards.
