Description
The Knife Edge Two Piece sculpture, created by Henry Moore between 1962 and 1964 and erected in 1967, is a significant piece of art. It is made of bronze and is positioned on a rectangular concrete pedestal that is faced in granite. The sculpture is fully abstract, featuring two curvaceous forms that are separated by a narrow diagonal gap. It stands approximately 2.75 meters high and 3.6 meters long, resting on a pedestal that is 70 centimeters high. The pedestal is inscribed with the words: ‘KNIFE EDGE BY HENRY MOORE / PRESENTED TO THE NATION BY / THE CONTEMPORARY ART / SOCIETY AND THE SCULPTOR 1967’.
