Description
The former dock retaining walls to the moat around the Jewel House are a Grade I listed structure located in Old Palace Yard, City of Westminster. These medieval walls predate the Jewel Tower and are made of ashlar-faced stone. They are the remnants of a dock that once served Westminster Palace, which were uncovered during excavations in 1963-64. The walls now form a moat that surrounds the Jewel Tower on the south, west, and north sides, contributing to the garden area around it.
