Description
Little Dean's Yard, known as Turle's House, is a school house built in 1884 by J.L. Pearson. It incorporates fragments of an 11th-century reredorter and is partially constructed over the Dark Cloister of the Great Cloisters. The building is designed in a Neo-Tudor style, featuring red brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. It stands three storeys tall with a basement and a mid-20th century dormered mansard. The façade is four windows wide, with a set-back portion to the right. To the left, there is a four-centred arched doorway and similarly arched ground floor windows adjacent to the Dark Cloister opening. The upper floors are adorned with square-headed mullioned casements. Notably, remnants of the reredorter can be found in the basement and on the first floor.
