Description

A row of grand houses located on the north side of Eaton Place in Westminster, dating from the mid-19th century and subsequently altered. The buildings are constructed of stucco, with roofs that are not visible. They extend to five storeys and are each three windows wide. The ground floor of some houses is rusticated. The houses feature unfluted Doric projecting porches. Balustraded balconies are present on the first floor. The windows are square-headed, with architraves and pediments to the first floor; the second and third floors have cornices. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and some first-floor windows are French casements. A console cornice was originally present above the fourth floor, but was removed from numbers 77 to 81. The buildings are fronted by cast iron spearhead area railings.
