Description
1A Old Bond Street is a corner block of shops and offices, built in 1880 by Alfred Waterhouse. The building features red brick and cream terracotta, topped with a slate roof, showcasing a typical straight-gabled design characteristic of Waterhouse. It stands three storeys tall with an attic, displaying five windows and two gables facing Old Bond Street. There is a splayed corner window with a gable and a three-window return to Piccadilly, which also has one gable. The ground floor includes mid-20th century plate glass shop windows and a corner entrance framed by original polished red granite pilasters and an entablature, with decorative iron railings above. The upper floors are adorned with flat arched mullioned-transomed casement windows.
