Description
Nos 206 to 214 Sussex Gardens is a mid-19th century terrace building located on a corner site in the City of Westminster. The structure is made of brick and has a stuccoed, channelled ground floor. It stands four storeys high, with a basement and attic, and features twelve bays in an irregular shape. The building has quoins and projecting Tuscan porches, including a bowed porch at the angled bay. It is adorned with sash windows, and some windows are casements or sashes set within pilaster and hood surrounds, with triple groups at No 212. There are balustraded balconies, floor bands, and a modillion cornice, along with iron railings at the basement. Sussex Gardens, originally known as Grand Junction Road, was an important part of the original layout of Bayswater.
