Description

No. 37 Smith Square is a terraced town house dating from circa 1912, with some rebuilding following war damage. It is constructed of red brick with Portland stone dressings and rusticated brick quoins, and has a tiled roof. The architecture is restrained neo-Georgian in style, with three storeys and a dormered mansard roof. The building has five windows in width, with a central bay projecting forward. The central doorway is set within a stone architrave with a pediment. The windows are flush-framed sash windows with glazing bars, set under flat gauged arches; the central windows are tripartite in design. A stone plat band runs above the ground floor, and there is a moulded stone coped parapet. The property is listed for its group value.
