Description

This is a terrace of six houses, numbered 37 to 43, located on the north side of Eaton Place in the City of Westminster. The houses date from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick with a stucco finish to the ground floor, featuring channelled details. Each house is three storeys high with an attic, a mansard roof to the attic, and a basement. They are each three windows wide. Projecting porches are present, adorned with waterleaf capitals. A continuous cast iron balcony runs along the first floor. The windows have square heads with gauged architraves, and are sash windows with glazing bars. French casements are found on the first floor. A cornice sits above the second floor, followed by a subsidiary cornice and a parapet above the attic. The terrace is further characterised by cast iron area railings in a spearhead design.
