Description
Lowndes House is a mansion built in the mid-19th century, with alterations likely made around 1900. The building is constructed of stucco and features three storeys and a basement, with a width of seven windows. The ground floor has rustication that continues through the full height of the third and fifth bays. A central projecting entrance is flanked by coupled Doric columns, and there is a balustraded balcony above. The windows are square-headed sash windows with glazing bars, and the central window on the first floor has a segmental pediment. There is stucco ornamentation above the central window on the second floor, and mask keystones are present on the ground floor. A rich modillion cornice crowns the building, and cast iron spearhead railings are also featured. The interior has not been inspected.
