Description
No. 128 Wigmore Street is a terraced town house dating from around 1770 to 1780, with early to mid-19th century alterations, part of the Portman Estate development. The building features early 19th century stucco facing and has a concealed slate roof. It stands five storeys tall and is three windows wide, with a mid-20th century shop front added at ground level. The upper floors have recessed sash windows with architrave surrounds; the first-floor windows are topped with pediments, while those on the second floor have cornices. A moulded cornice runs above the second floor, and the parapet has coping. There are cast iron balconettes on the first floor. Inside, the house retains an original slender turned baluster staircase and a plasterwork ceiling in the Adam style in the front room on the first floor.
