Description
This is a row of four terraced houses dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the early to mid-19th century. They are located on the east side of Wimpole Street, London. The houses are constructed of brown brick, with some stucco facings, and have slate roofs. Each house has three windows. Number 14 is stuccoed and features rusticated quoins. The doorways are positioned on the left-hand side of each house except for number 16. Each doorway is set within an architrave case and topped with a fanlight; numbers 13 and 16 have Doric pilastered doorcases, with number 16 featuring an open pediment. The windows are revealed sash windows, some with glazing bars, and are set under flat, gauged arches. Those of number 14 are set within stucco architraves. Early 19th-century cast iron balconies are present on the first floors of numbers 14 to 16. The property includes cast iron area railings.
