Description

TQ 2881 NE and SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER QUEEN ANNE STREET, W1 45/134; 56/200 (south side) 5.2.70 No 29 G.V. II Terraced town house. 1760s Portland Estate development. Stock brick with stuccoed ground floor; slate roof concealed. 4 storeys and basement. 4 windows wide. Semicircular arched doorway in stucco doorcase of slender engaged Corinthian columns, frieze with flutes and roundels and dentil cornice. Recessed sashes, those on upper floors with stone egg and dart edged architraves with keyblocks and apron panels below 1st floor sills. Stone bracketed cornice over 2nd floor; parapet with coping. Wrought iron area railings with flambé urn finials. Interior retains geometrical staircase with wrought iron balustrade in front compartment; some good plasterwork in particular 1st floor front drawing room ceiling; statuary marble chimneypieces etc.
