Description

This is a terrace of shops and flats located at 109-113 Mount Street, London. Numbers 109-111 were built in 1887 and numbers 112-113 in 1891-92, all designed by Sir Ernest George and Peto. The buildings are constructed of pinkish-buff terracotta with tiled roofs and are designed in an Early Renaissance style, closely resembling numbers 104-108 in the terrace.

The terrace comprises three storeys, basements, and gabled attics. It features a deeply modelled segmental arched arcade with rounded press framing the shop fronts and doorways. A pierced work parapet is positioned above the doorway of number 110. The first and second floors incorporate mullioned transomed two-light windows, flat-headed with shallow relief ornament, and three similarly detailed canted bay windows, each with a balustraded parapet in front of the attic gables. The east return features a ground floor arcade extended for two bays, along with irregular fenestration and two gables, one of which butts into a chimney stack. The rear elevation, facing St George's Gardens, is comparable to numbers 104-108, with the addition of a broad gable.
