Description

This is a terrace of six houses, built between 1850 and 1855, located on Westbourne Terrace Road in London. The buildings are constructed of brick, with a stucco finish and channelled details to the ground floor. They rise to three storeys over a basement. The terrace is composed of three blocks, each two bays wide, separated by recessed entrance wings of two bays. There are also recessed single bays at each end of the terrace.

The recessed entrance wings feature pilaster screens with low balustrades and contain two round-arched entrances, each with panelled doors and a fanlight above. The windows on the ground floor are round-arched sashes with glazing bars, with radial glazing in the upper part of the arches. The projecting wings have shallow bowed fronts with tripartite sashes retaining their glazing bars. A continuous dentilled cornice runs along the first floor.

The projecting wings have first-floor casements set within architraves, topped by pediments supported on consoles. Above these are sashes with glazing bars in architraves. The building is characterised by quoins, a sill band, and a modillion cornice. The recessed bays include round-arched casements in architraves, with a central round-arched niche in each wing. A further recessed second floor features sashes in architraves, and is topped with a further cornice.
