Description

No. 120 Pall Mall is a showroom and office building designed in 1929 by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It is constructed with load-bearing Portland stone ashlar and features a slate roof. The building showcases a bold and subtly composed free neo-classical style. It has a two-storey podium for the showroom, with five floors of offices above, and is three windows wide.

The ground floor is characterized by a large, off-centre semicircular archway leading into the showroom, which is deeply recessed in the facade. To the left of the archway is a pedimented doorway with a mezzanine window above. The second-floor windows, or rather second mezzanine windows, are also deeply recessed and divided by piers that support a two-storey giant "Delhi" order. This order features engaged columns in the central broader bay, with antae flanking it. The metal casement windows on the third floor are recessed and square-headed, with panelled aprons.

Above the fourth floor, there is a giant order entablature, followed by a first attic storey that is surmounted by a parapet with three balustraded panels. The second recessed attic storey has a central emphasis and is crowned by a full-width pediment.
