Description
No. 82 Mortimer Street is a narrow-fronted building with a shop on the ground floor, built around 1900 by Beresford Pite. It features red brick and Portland stone construction, standing four storeys high with a basement and a slated mansard roof. The early 20th-century shop front is plain and sits beneath a stone entablature, with a 1960s plate glass window. On the first floor, there are three round-arched sash windows grouped under a broad broken pediment, which is adorned with carved figures of a seated male and female on a baroque scale. These figures flank a single window on the second floor, which is topped by an open pediment. The third floor has plain sash windows, all finished off by a parapet.
