Description

The forecourt railings, piers, and gates to Apsley House date from around 1828 and are made of stone and cast iron. There are 15 square stone piers, each featuring waterleaf capitals and cornices. The railings and gates are elaborately designed with a foliated pattern. The piers flank two gateways, which are topped with domed polygonal lanterns.
