Description

The Exeter Arms public house, located on the corner of Ashbridge Street and Broadley Street in Westminster, dates from approximately 1830 to 1840. Constructed of stock brick with a concealed slate roof, the building is three storeys high. It has three windows along Ashbridge Street, including a chimney breast, and a three-window return frontage to Broadley Street. The prominent public house frontage on both streets features bar windows and double-panelled and glazed doors. These are framed by Corinthian pilasters, coupled at the ends, which support a continuous frieze and dentil cornice. The upper floors have recessed glazing bar sash windows, with blind windows in the centre bay on Broadley Street, all set under flat, gauged arches. A parapet with stone coping tops the building.
