Description
Wandsworth Garage Bus Depot, built between 1906 and 1908, is located to the west of Wandsworth Bridge. This tramway depot is constructed from yellow stock brick with minimal stone detailing. The entrance elevation has been altered, while the rear elevation features two gabled bays, each gable set back behind lesenes that frame a large thermal window. The stone cills align with those of the long return elevation, creating the appearance of a bandcourse, with the windows positioned high in the wall. The return elevation consists of a central block defined by three large, blind round-headed windows set back behind lesenes, along with end blocks that each have a blind thermal window also recessed behind lesenes. The central and end blocks frame two recessed sections, each featuring a colonnade of lesenes that support six additional recessed segmental-headed glazed windows in their upper parts.
