Description
Wentworth House, dating from the early 18th century, is a two-storey building featuring five windows, with one additional later extension. It is constructed of brown brick, accented by a red brick band at the first floor. The house has a new slate roof and a flat door hood supported by richly-carved brackets. The original wood eaves cornice has been remodelled. The windows have red gauged flat arches and dressings that frame them flush. Inside, there is a staircase with thick turned balusters, a wide handrail, square newels, and panelling. The ground floor area also includes panelling and a wood cornice. The property is complemented by a later wrought iron gate and stone-capped piers that form a ramped forecourt wall.
