Description

This is an early 19th-century building of yellow stock brick. It is four storeys high with a basement. The building has two sash windows on each upper floor with plain reveals; those on the ground and first floors are set within arches. A round-headed doorway features pilasters, a fanlight, and a flat hood above, with a panelled door. The roof is not visible. Number 8 Montague Place forms a group with Nos 5 to 11 (consec) Montague Place, Nos 1-3 and 24 Bazely Street, Nos 45 to 51 (odd) and the Greenwich Pensioner Public House, Bazely Street, the gate piers to the Children's Playground, All Saints’ Rectory, Newby Place, All Saints’ with St Frideswide Church, the churchyard walls, and gate piers, East India Dock Road.
