Description
The Engineer's House at Truman's Brewery is a former engineer's residence that has been converted into offices. It was built in the 1830s and is constructed of stock brick with stone cornices and a slate roof, featuring some tile-hanging at the rear. The building is three stories high and has a four-bay plan, with projecting one and two-story wings at the back. There is an original carriage entrance beneath the southern two bays, which is topped with a gauged brick arch.
The entrance includes a side door with a four-panelled design and a square top-light, set within a moulded doorcase that has a flat cornice and square pilasters, along with a carriage lamp. All the windows are glazing bar sashes that sit under gauged brick heads, and there is a round-arched single window on the ground floor. A moulded cornice runs over the ground floor and beneath the parapet.
