Description

The four lamp standards, located in the alleyway across from Bethnal Green Museum Gardens south of the Museum, were constructed in 1897. They are made of cast iron and feature chamfered plinths, fluted columns adorned with floral and other decorative elements, as well as swan necks and scroll brackets. These lamp standards, along with the Bethnal Green Museum, its associated railings and statue, and St John's Church, form a cohesive group of historical significance.
