Description

This is an early 19th-century building with iron railings, located at No. 5 Paradise Row. The building is constructed of brown brick with a channelled stucco finish to the ground floor. A string course runs at the sill height of the first floor, and rusticated quoins are present on the south side. The building features a stucco eaves cornice and blocking course. It has three storeys and a basement, with a two-window frontage. The windows are sash windows with vertical glazing bars, with the exception of a fixed 19th-century window on the ground floor. The first and second-floor windows have architraves, with the first-floor windows also featuring bracketed pediments. The ground-floor door and window are round-arched, the door set within a double recessed arch and being panelled with a semi-circular fanlight above. The iron railings are topped with urn and spearhead finials. Nos. 2 to 11, Paradise Row, form a group behind Bethnal Green Gardens.
